Typical shifts are:
7:30am till 1:30pm or 1:00pm – 7:00pm, Monday through Friday
8:30am-3:30pm, Saturday & Sunday (exact times still being determined)
Hey Doc Clinic History and Purpose
Hey Doc Clinic is an interdisciplinary wellness clinic, owned by a queer Latinx sports chiropractor and opened in late 2021. Our mission is to center the healthcare needs of queer, trans and BIPOC communities while serving the general population. We are participating in a necessary paradigm shift in healthcare by modeling, promoting and supporting wellness, with cultural awareness around the BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities which have been historically harmed and discriminated against in healthcare spaces.
Job Description
We are looking for Clinical Front Desk Staff member to provide the most vital and public-facing support in the clinical space. This role has a significant impact on the communities we serve, requiring someone who has a competent and warm demeanor. This role implements the systems required for us to live out the missions and values of the clinic, while running daily operations. This position is ideal for a candidate with a welcoming demeanor, high degree of initiative, the ability to work with diverse groups of people or independently while operating from a justice informed perspective in a timely and organized way. We understand the amount of emotional labor working in healthcare requires and greatly appreciate anyone willing to be present and do this work.
Front Desk Staff Responsibilities
Greet and welcome visitors
Build and maintain rapport with clients and patients
Scheduling and coordination between multiple providers
Respond to incoming phone, text messages and email communication
Help visitors with various backgrounds and ability navigate the clinic space
Provide information regarding scheduling, insurance and benefits
Perform various clerical duties (i.e. organizing files, faxing, scanning)
Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Maintain office security and adherence to COVID protocols
Monitor front door and ensure providers’ treatment rooms are not disturbed
Maintain tidy reception area, replace front office supplies and inventory
Daily laundry washing and folding
Support and maintain the cleanliness of the clinic
Communicate with remote staff
Attempt to resolve emergencies in a timely, grounded, and effective manner
Other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Clinic Owner
Required Applicant Qualifications
Be dependable and punctual to morning shifts that begin at 7:30AM
Have exceptional interpersonal skills exuding competence and warmth
Have clear, concise, verbal and written communication
Previous customer service, medical/health/wellness front office experience
Past experience and comfort with anti-racist, pro-queer, pro-trans practices
Comfort and ease with multitasking phone, in-person and digital communications
Have strong organization skills with attention to detail
Be a self-starter with a strong work ethic
Stress management skills
Ability to be grounded, solution-oriented and resourceful when issues arise
Candidate must pass a background check
Proof of COVID vaccination and boosters
Helpful Qualifications and Experience
General understanding or previous experience with insurance/health benefits terminology
Experience in coordination roles
Community-centered work or volunteer experience
Experience working with office phones and other office equipment
